A proposal to build a fully-fledged monumental museum and library under the guidance of Venerable Bandarawela Nanda Thero is under way, in memory of the most Venerable Maha Thera, Sanskrita Chakravarti, Sanskrita Sahitya Visarada, Gina Sasana Keerthi, Sanskrita Sahitya Sarasvati, Daivi Bhasha Paramesvara and Chief High Priest of the Udarata Amarapura Samagri Sanga Sabha Agga Maha Panditha the Late Davuldena Gnanissara Thero.For this purpose, the Foundation Laying Ceremony was held on 30th October 2017 at the auspicious time at 11.01 a.m. at No. 49/2, 01st Cross Street, Pagoda Road, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka with the patronage and participation of Agga Maha Panditha Most Venerable Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thero, who is the present supreme Maha Nayaka of Sri Lanka Amarapura Nikaya.For this ceremony, Mr. M. Maniymuthu, the Proprietor of Marlbo Trading Company was invited as a Special Guest. Due to unavoidable circumstances, he could not attend the ceremony and instead, Mr. Neel Weedagama, Chief Executive Officer of Marlbo Trading Company participated at this religious event and laid the Foundation Stone on behalf of Mr. Maniymuthu.The Maha Sanga from all four coers of the country and distinguished invitees participated at this colourful ceremony.We wish all success in this great endavour and pray that the organizers will be able to complete the building within the stipulated time period.
