Sri Dharmakeerthi Sunday Daham Pasala is affiliated to the Sri Dharmakeerthiyaramaya Temple located in Kollupitiya, Colombo 03, Sri Lanka, in the vicinity of the “Temple Treesâ€Â, the official residence of the Prime Minister.After the long haul strive of many honoured leaders, Sri Lanka gained Independence on the 4th of February 1948 and on the same significant day The first Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Hon.D.S.Senanayake planted a mango tree at the Sri Dharmakeerthiyaramaya temple in Kollupitiya which today is a huge tree to behold. This mango tree is distinguished and revered every year on the Independence Day. Prime Minister Hon.D.S.Senanayake planted this mango tree to give significance to the celebration of the first Independence Day, which he brought from the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.At the Request of the Principal, Venerable Thero of the Daham Pasala and having recognized the historical importance of the school which is nearly 100 years old, the management of Marlbo Trading Company decided to offer snacks to the students every Sunday, numbering about 125 during their tea break. This yeomen service commenced on 17th September 2017.
